One measure to be discussed further was the reinstatement of an electronic information screen at Gorsley Post Office. The meetings so far have been attended by many members of the public who have put forward constructive suggestions. The next joint meeting would be held on Monday 28th September 2009 at Aston Ingham Village Hall 8pm.
CSO Paul Leighton reported that burglaries were down by 50% but distraction burglaries were still rising. The recent break in at Yew Tree cottage in Sargents Lane was noted as a recommendation to householders to make use of Smartwater.
Richard Smith reported that a PACT meeting would be held on Tuesday 12th May and a meeting on Policing matters on Thursday 11th June, both at the Larraperz Centre in Ross.
Richard then gave a comprehensive report as a representative member of Hereford Council appointed to West Mercia Police Authority. The report included statistics on recent crime and news of the Police Pledge which was to spend 80% of time in the local area and to respond to 999 calls within 10 seconds and 20 mins to crime scene.
