The village of Gorsley is situated in the countryside of rural South Herefordshire and straddling the border between Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.

The M50 motorway links the Midlands and the North to Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth and South Wales and passes the village on its north western boundary.

Junction 3 of the motorway leads on to the B4221 which passes through the village and on to the market town of Newent just 3 miles away.

The Cathedral City of Hereford is appoximately 16 miles to the north west of the village passing through the villages of Fownhope and Mordiford and the picturesque Wye Valley. The City of Gloucester is about 12 miles to the south east along the B4221 that passes through Newent and the Leadon Vale.
